GHM GAMEPLAN
5-Week Virtual Lab for Industry Strategy
Work smarter, not harder.
“I’m interested in becoming a professional dancer- how do I do it?”
“I’m currently a professional dancer and need help with my look, branding myself, networking, Instagram, being seen, and pushing through the noise so I can book more.”
Join the hundreds of students who have developed a “game plan” to navigate the dance industry. Assess what you need to do outside of the dance studio to get hired & stay hired.
Course Structure:
This is similar to a mini-mentorship; each student will be given a customized plan for how to market themselves as a dancer according to their individual goals, styles, and lane. This is a low-capacity session.
1-on-1 Customized Feedback
Open to all levels
Sessions will be held on Zoom

_____
Video lesson for off-site homework:
BRANDING:
“What do people think when they hear your name?”
From hair, makeup, wardrobe, social media, & your entire “vibe” - we’ll break down how to brand yourself in a consistent way that increases your chances of being noticed, remembered, & hired.
Most importantly, we’ll discuss how to enhance who you are instead of changing who you are.
Discovering your brand as a dancer often leads to discovering who you are as a person - empower yourself in dance & in life.
_____
SOCIAL MEDIA:
Approaching social media can be overwhelming. We’ll break down social media into “WHY”, “WHAT”, “WHEN” and “HOW”.
Most social media advice is general (“Treat social media like a website!”).
This lesson is specific: from thumbnails to photos to story highlights to usernames, you’ll be taking pages of notes on how to improve your social media.
With this clear structure for how to approach social media, you can transform your relationship with it into a wonderful tool that shares your talent with the world.
-
Video lessons for off-site homework:
AGENTS
“Do I need an agent?”
“How do I get an agent?”
“How do I look for work if I don’t have an agent?”
We’ll break down what many often see as an intimidating veil that surrounds the role of the agent in the dance industry.
_____
HEADSHOTS & RESUMÉS
Context is key: understanding how your headshot is consumed both physically & digitally is instrumental to this conversation.
From best practices on formatting to what energy to bring to the shot, learn the ins and outs of how to maximize your calling card.
Good headshots are still extremely valuable even in this digital era!
-
7am PST: Galen will join you live for a midterm review. Recorded for replay should you be unavailable to attend.
She’ll review the homework you’ve accomplished in improving and ideating your social media and branding.
We’ll audit your progress on branding, social media, headhosts and resumés thus far.
Each student receives personal feedback and advice on the direction they’re heading. Is the profile photo right? Are your wardrobe moodboard references hitting? What needs to be done with your headshots?
Take the week to apply notes!
-
Video lesson for off-site homework:
Does the thought of “networking” make your skin crawl? You’re not alone!
We’ll break down networking into:
In-Person Networking
Networking via Emails
Networking via Social Media
This lesson ties together all of the previous lessons in a clear strategy that tells you exactly what to say, when to say it, & how to say it.
-
10am PST. Replay available should you not be able to make it.
Galen will join you live for a final meeting.
Customize your next steps for an exit strategy where you feel excited to take the lead.
Is it time for you to submit to agencies? What classes should you be taking? How should you be spending your time, money and energy in your next phase? How can you apply the networking strategies in real life?
Each student gets clear next steps based on their specific needs.
Ask any final questions to set yourself for success.
Time to celebrate your bright futures!
Navigate your career with confidence and a clear road map.

Not sure whether to take GHM PRO or GHM GAMEPLAN?
If you want to focus on dancing, knowing how to excel in a fast-paced rehearsal environment and on set, think quickly, be versatile, perfect your “industry freestyle”, be a smart dancer, know how to work with an artist, how to read on camera, and work with top-tier dancers, submit for GHM PRO.
If you want to develop your look, your branding, your social media, networking, how to present yourself at auditions & during self-tapes, look immediately bookable, and break through the noise of the industry, take GHM GAMEPLAN.
This session gives you a gameplan to navigate the industry. Whereas GHM PRO is intense dance training for advanced dancers who want to be able to deliver in high-stakes, top-tier jobs, GHM GAMEPLAN assesses what you need to do outside of the dance studio to get hired in the first place.
If you need both sessions, take Gameplan and then Pro!
